Revolution Research

Word Definition:

I went ahead and researched what the term Revolution actually means and I found out that it means 2 things, one meaning an overthrow of the government because the people want a change, another meaning meaning of the word that I found is the revolution of a second which is a type of rotation. This has been useful and this is because it has given me a larger insight on the meaning of the word and this also helps me because it makes it a lot easier to come up with ideas that I can do for my project.

Word Association:

I then went and searched up the synonyms of the word revolution and it came out with a lot of different words that can be replaced with it. This has been useful to research and this is because it helps me gather ideas on what I can base my project on, for example there is the word ‘violence’ and this helps me because I can implement violence into my game to link it to the theme word ‘revolution’. I found the word ‘rebellion’ which I could use this in my game and this is because it is linked with revolution and this is because a lot of revolutions have been when the people rebel against the government.

I went on to create a mind map for the research that I find on the word revolution and this is because it shows the range of research that I have covered, for example I researched different areas of the meaning and this ranges from modern day riots to overthrows that have happened in the past. I found this research useful and this is because it can be used later on in the project and this is because it gives me a larger insight of the different era’s and different types of revolutions, for example I covered a tiny bit of the industrial revolution, a fair amount of of the past revolution as well as a lot of modern riots.

I have chosen these images and this is because they suit the theme revolution very well and this is because it is about one of the most famous revolutions which is the French revolution. It also shows that even back then some of the revolutions can be very violent, this is due to the people not liking what the government are doing and due to this they try to overthrow them. Another reason for it being so violent is because there is a tiny proportion of the government compared to the amount of people that are living there.

I chose these images because they come under modern day riots and these come under the modern day riots section and this ties into revolution, this is because the citizens are trying to make a stand or tying to overthrow the government and this is to create a message. Another reason that I have chose these pictures is because it really shows how extreme some riots/revolutions can really get, this is because some people really fight for what they want and it shows to what extent they go to to get it.
